It has been over a year since my last blog post so I thought it may be time to write a little something. So here it goes.
I recently read a quote that said, "I'd rather die than be someone else." I thought it was genius. Not because of death, but because of LIFE. What is the purpose of life? Why are we here? To be who you are, and no one else. That's why I couldn't help but think that to be someone you're not would result in a wasted life. Come on, you get a whole lifetime to be you, to discover and remember and polish the person you are supposed to be. Why on Earth would you shove this down the gutter and take on someone else's role? There is already someone else for that role. Only you can fulfill being you.
What drives you? What is important in your eyes? What do you think you're here to do? How can you add to life and the world? What are you good at?
I think this is something that takes awhile to figure out. We are all amazing in our own ways and there is something special about each and everyone of us.
Start listening to your truth. And flow with it.

Lasting Memories
#3 Rome
Three years ago, my grandparents took me to Italy. Which just so happens to be my favorite country. I remember clearly standing in front of the Colosseum in Rome and as I looked up at the beauty of the ruins it actually hit me that I was actually there! Even though I had already been to Venice and Florence, It wasn't until I was in front of the Colloseum that it actually hit me.
So I guess I should start there....
The Colosseum, also called the Flavian Ampitheater, is one of the great works of Roman engineering. In the 1st century AD, when it was built, it was the site of gladiator fights, mock sea battles, and other enactments. It had three stories of tiered seats and could hold 50,000 spectators.
Trevi Fountain or the Fontana di Trevi is another must see. Certainly the most famous and photographed fountain in Rome, legend has it that whoever throws a coin into the pond will return to Rome.
Basilica di San Clemente was constructed between 1110 and 1130, this church of San Clemente is not one, but three churches built one above the other, with ruins dating from the earliest Christian times.
Palatine Hill is the archaeological center of Rome. It contains relics of great palaces and other structures from ancient times, including the Palace of Septimus Severus, the house of Augustus, the house of Livia and the Huts of Romulus.
And you can not forget to visit the Vatican and home of the Pope.

Enjoying the world God gave us!
For those of you that know me, you know that I love to travel. I love enjoying different cultures and what makes not only our own country unique but others as well...There is so much to enjoy in this world besides what is in our own backyard. Don't get me wrong, our own country is pretty incredible as well. I decided maybe I should open all of your eyes to the beauty that this world as to offer. I have decided to do a little research into the top 20 destinations of 2013. Every few days or so I am going to write about one or more different cities, that are the top cities you must see.
Note: Seeing how I haven't been to all of the cities I am going to be posting, not all photos will belong to me. When there is a city that I have visited, you will know.
#1 London
The Courtauld Gallery is one of the finest small museums in the world. Its collection stretches from the early Renaissance into the 20th century and is particularly renowned for the unrivalled collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. The Gallery also holds an outstanding collection of drawings and prints and fine example of sculpture and decorative arts.
The Palace of Westminster is the seat of both chambers of Parliament of the United Kingdom and is located on the north bank of the River Thames in the City of Westminster, close to other government buildings.
The Churchill War Rooms, the underground headquarters of the British High Command. It served as the nerve center of Britain's war effort during World War II.
The Royal Opera House was built in 1732. This well-known theater is the home to the Royal Ballet and Royal Opera, which regularly features world famous stars and performances throughout the year.
And last but not least....
A must see in London is Big Ben. If you visit the breathtaking clock tower during the day, you also must view it once darkness has come over the incredible city of London.

#2 New York City
Central Park extends from 59th to 110th streets between 5th and 8th avenues [Central Park West], Central Park is one of the iconic sights of New York City. While it may appear to be a beautiful natural area, be aware that it is entirely man-made except for the glacier scarred protruding rocks.
Top of the Rock is a 3-tiered observation deck on the 67th, 69th, and 70th floors of Rockefeller Center. The upper decks 260 meters above the street level you get a 360 degree view of New York City.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is the largest encyclopedic art museum in the world under a single roof. Over 2 million art works from all periods and cultures are found in this collection.
Grand Central Stationed opened in 1913, and one of America's busiest terminals, Grand Central boasts a wide array of shops and restaurants to serve the more than 500,000 travelers who pass through every day.
Finally, the most difficult thing to miss when entering the city would be the New York Skyline.
Bye

Looking ahead
2012 was a difficult year for me. It had some major ups and downs, but lets face it I am going to have more and more years of difficult times. All I can do from now on is focus on the future and not my past.....
I am beginning 2013 with a fresh attitude. I believe that if I make the right choices then good things are bound to happen in my life so here is to an incredible 2013.
My goal is to try and continue writing, life has kind of been a distraction but I'm hoping to focus more on my writing (:

Everything is different
Awhile ago I found this quote and I really think that it describes my life.
This year has been really difficult for me. Last year at this time I had just graduated from high school, had a boyfriend, great friends, and the whole world in front of me. Over the last year a lot of things have happened that have turned my life upside down. For awhile I was unhappy because I felt like everything was just going wrong. Then I sat down and thought about it and realized that yes, everything has changed and become different in the last year, but different isn't always bad, it's just different.
A year may have passed but I have so many more years ahead of me. Some may not turn out how I want, but God has a plan for me and I need to trust him. I am a firm believer that everything happens because it is in God's plan and I believe that God will not give me something to overcome unless he knows I can handle it. So even though everything is different than last year, this is my life now and I am going to just sit back and live and love the life in front of me and not look back on the past.
